The great thing about Twitter is that it makes you pack as much punch as possible into a concise 140 characters. Sometimes so much punch that maybe the Tweets take on a life of their own in unexpected ways?
.
Some recent coverage over a potential trademark infringement by Intelius for their DateCheck mobile app reminded me that the key marketing slogan they used for their service was uncannily similar to a Tweet by WhitePages’ very own VP of Mobile, Kevin Nakao. On Aug 5, 2009 he tweeted “Teens don’t Tweet, but they LOOKUP before they Hook up”.
.
Then a month later on, Intelius launched its DateCheck iPhone app with the slogan, “Lookup before you hookup”. Intelius proceeded to build a whole marketing campaign centered around this slogan, and a Google search on this phrase shows how remarkably effective the slogan turned out to be.

Maybe Kevin needs to block some unwanted followers from his Twitter account?
